When someone is suffering because of losing a loved one, or fearful about the future; when someone is in pain or lonely we often want to reach out to them to help in some way.
This is where the Prayer Shawl Ministry comes in.
In our Parish we are fortunate to have a number of people who are very willing to use their crocheting or knitting skills to make shawls or lap blankets. These are then given to anyone in need of loving care.
Why do we do this? Well again and again we read that Jesus had compassion for so many people in need; in need of healing, in need of food, in need of forgiveness.
So this Prayer Shawl Ministry is our way of showing the compassion of Jesus in our community.
We also give a small blanket to every child who is Baptised as a symbol of the enfolding love of God.
Each shawl is prayed for as it is being made and blessed during a Sunday service.
